Pursing a graduate or professional degree is not the right choice for everyone. The demand for physical therapists is expected to grow rapidly, with 39% growth projected through 2020. Physical therapists earned a median annual wage of $76,310 in 2010. A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program generally lasts three years and is designed for those interested in careers as physical therapists.
